FUBAR! We do enjoy reading it. In fact, I bet the three people who probably still regularly check this blog to see if you're going to post would like to see you write more, even if it is nonsensical gibberish. If for no other reason than to maybe get some of that junk out of your head so your mind can slow down a step or two.

I have thought about starting my own business - I would LOVE to own a cafe and bookstore. I have just heard that owning your own business is so incredibly hard, and I have no start up funds.

I would be supporting local producers - local farmers, and local crafts people. And this country will not have a hard time surviving, because not many people DO feel like this.

It's is not about not wanting to spend, it's about wanting to enjoy my life by living simply. When I have a family, I don't want to have to work hard to be able to afford someone else to take care of my children. I want to enjoy my time with my husband and children.

And you want to represent the people of Fitchburg?

How long could this country survive if many felt as you do? Someone has to the producer of those post consumer goods and services that you want to barter and recycle but not support the producers of.

How can Fitchburg's commerce progress if the residents don't spend? In order to spend, you have to make!

Though you have a low opinion of Joe Worker supporting his family, it's interesting that you never considered in your comments the alternative of starting your own business.

What Fitchburg needs is Entrapreneurs Not Drop Outs!

You could get the trees chipped to have mulch for next year, or chip it and add it to compost. Both would mean no extra methane in the landfill/air.

P.S. I think your tag cloud is broken.

You don't remember the Barbie & the Rockers doll!?!? I definitely remember her top with the big collar and the shiny pants. I think it was really hard to get her into the pants. Although saying that, I think NONE of her pants were easy to put on.

I'm sure we had other things on our list than just that doll.

Do you remember when we got the little table and chairs? And the Miss Piggy and Kermit dolls? And new flashlights? that was all in the same year, I think.

We were awfully spoilt as kids.

The problem is their habitat has been so fragmented by highways and roads in general that if they don't cross they will starve to death. The same is true for beavers who after 2 years learning with their parents set off to find their own pond, cougars in California who have huge habitat requirements as primary consumers, wolves who also need a large area to get enough prey because if they over-consume in an area they destroy their own livelihood as well, and many, many other animals. Highways and development have a huge impact on wildlife and there are efforts to make safe ways for them to cross, like migration corridors but it needs to be increased, however the education and funding isn't there.
