I went to the New England Aquarium today with Chris. We saw turtles, and penguins, and sharks, and sting rays, and lots and lots of other fishes. I learned the correct way to use “fish” and “fishes” months ago when I was chatting with Emiliano on the phone. I think he called me and had me look it up, because he was driving in a car, and he knew I had my magical phone. If there are many goldfish in a tank, then you would say “Ooh, look at all these fish.” But if you’re at the Aquarium, and there are many different species, then you say “Wow, that’s a lot of fishes.” ****The more you know****
After the aquarium, we went back to his apartment in Sommerville and cooked up an asparagus and tofu meal with pasta. I made him take fancy pictures with his very expensive-looking camera, but I have to wait until he e-mails them to me until I can post them. Hopefully he will also send me pictures of the penguins, and I will post those as well.
Once home, I had a delicious piece of cherry pie, and then a bit later I had a bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats (with half a banana!). Deeeeelicious.
I have to be in Gardner for 8:15am tomorrow for my class practicum, so I think that I am going to try to wake up at 6am, go for a run outside and then leave the house by 7:45. I don’t want to have to wake up that early, but it’s 9:35, and I’m almost ready for bed. The good thing about exercising before I go, is this way I won’t have to take two showers tomorrow, which is more eco-friendly. I’m going to risk running in the streets (even though we got a foot of snow on Sunday), and run my two (or three) miles outside. It’s quicker, and I can just start running the minute I leave the house. Rather than walking to the gym, changing, exercising, changing again, and walking home. Also, I went to the gym this morning, and it was SO hot. It was miserable, and I just wanted someone to open a window. I don’t usually swear, but in my head, I was thinking “Why is it so mother f-ing hot in here??????” I just wanted to run outside where I am cold at first, but then I get nice and warm. I’ve also noticed that if I run 3 miles outside, and 3 miles on a treadmill, my pedometer will register more steps when I run on the treadmill. I wonder why that is? Maybe I take longer steps when I run outside? I guess that makes sense because on a treadmill, my stride is limited. (Oh, I just found out the sun won’t rise until 6:17!!! So maybe I’ll wake up at 6:10, and just run 2 miles since my time is limited.)
I’m angry that I walked around the aquarium for so long (and ran 2.5 miles this morning), and I only have 12,548 steps in. What’s up with THAT, Mr. Charleston Fluffypants?
