Kath, from Kath Eats Real Food, always makes delicious looking oatmeal. She eats it every morning for breakfast, and every day it is different. She adds pumpkin, peanut butter, granola bars, bananas, wheatberries, all sorts of things! Finally, I decided I couldn’t just look at her pictures anymore, and I had to make my own. I followed her ingredients exactly for her Banana Whipped Oatmeal, and made it tonight. To it, I added blue berries, wheat germ, and Go Lean Crunch.

I hated it.
I picked out the blueberries, and the Go Lean Crunch that wasn’t all soggy, and ate that. The larger chunks of the cereal I separated in the bowl to eat later. I would be much happier with a bowl of cereal. This is the bowl after I was “done” with it. The cereal is separated on the right.

Since I hadn’t enjoyed the oatmeal, but was still hungry, I finished what was left of the cereal in the box (only about a half cup), and added blueberries and raspberries with skim milk. It was delicious!

I’m bummed that I didn’t enjoy the oatmeal, I guess I will just have to enjoy Kath’s pictures.
However, she does have an amazing recipe for Baked Oatmeal Snack Bars, which look absolutely delicious. I do like oatmeal bars, and Oatmeal cookies, so I think I will like the snack bars. I think it’s the soggy consistency of the oatmeal that I don’t like.

And Happy Birthday to Sally who is 25 today! In seven months exactly, I will be 25!

This was the view outside my bathroom window when I woke up and took my thyroid pill this morning (I also detoured to the bathroom since I was awake anyway.) I thought it was so pretty that I went into my bedroom and grabbed my phone to take a picture. This doesn’t do it justice.

I finished all of my fruit salad today at work, so on my way home, I stopped at the grocery store to buy some more. I took a trip down the soda aisle, too. Diet soda is my one weakness. Everyone at Macy*s always comments on how healthy I eat, but then they add “Except for the soda!” To which I reply, “Yes, but at least it’s diet!”
So anyway, about the soda. It’s no longer called Diet Pepsi Max. It’s now just Pepsi Max. Plus, it has a super cool new logo and design of the bottle. I also noticed that they didn’t have any of the boxes of cans… maybe they pulled them because it had the old logo and name?

When I was in England in August, I noticed that they had Diet Pepsi Max, but it was only called Pepsi Max there (see bottle, below). I thought that was weird, and I had to look over the logo many times to make sure that it was 0 calories. I also did a Wikipedia search just to really make sure.
I know that DPM was originally marketed towards young men (18-40?)… and I bet that they removed the word “diet” to make it even more appealing to men. Cause guys don’t like being seen drinking diet drinks? In Italy and the Netherlands, it was called “Coke Light.” Also, the colors and simple style make it geared towards men.

Now that it’s no longer called Diet Pepsi Max, does it still count as a diet soda?
