Ok, just a really quick update on something I thought was funny. Lots of people say I either “don’t have an accent” or that I at least, don’t have a Boston accent. I took a quiz on “what kind of accent do you have, and here are the results:
| What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Midland
“You have a Midland accent” is just another way of saying “you don’t have an accent.” You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio. |

This makes sense because both of my parents are from Ohio, so I tend to speak more like them. However, my mom pronounces “towel” like “tale.” And she says “root beer” with root rhyming with “foot”. She also said “crick” instead of creek (to me, creek rhymes with geek, to her, it rhymes with lick). She says it’s because she’s from “southern Ohio.”
I went to Macy*s Christmas party tonight, so I’ll update about that tomorrow. I’ll also update on other various weekend things that occurred.
