Does anyone else in your family have GERD? apparently it can be genetic to an extent. The details escape me, but I was lucky enough to inherit it from my parents. I was pretty ignorant to the problems associated with it, and would usually ignore as much as possible and eat massive otc antacids. My father eventually passed due to complication with Barret’s esophagus.

It's amazing how it's just one extra thing to have to worry/think about.
